Music in the Issaquah SD

Music is a part of every child's elementary school education. Our curriculum is aligned with the National Core Arts Standards and seeks to give every student the opportunity to create, perform, respond and connect with music.

At all grade levels we cover the building blocks of music including pitch, rhythm, timbre,  harmony, form and expression.  All students will learn vocal and instrumental techniques as they sing, move, and play instruments while experiencing music from around the world.

Behavioral expectations

Quaver (www.quavermusic,com)  is the Issaquah School District's online resource for general music at the elementary level. Each day in my  music classroom we sing and act out the Quaver Five, reminding each other of our behavior expectations in music. These goals reinforce the commitment of our school communities to create an environment that supports learning by everyone, everywhere.
